Bladder cancer patients with muscle-invasive disease are faced with difficult decisions about treatment options, particularly urinary diversion type. Few decision aids exist for patients. We review the existing decision-making and patient education tools and discuss ongoing projects to develop multimedia decision aids and an Internet-based patient education and support system.
