Roger Watson is a consultant urologist in Brisbane, specialising in urological oncology, with a special interest in bladder and prostate cancer. He has been involved in surgery for prostate cancer for more than 20 years, initially developing this following Urological Oncology Fellowship training. Since its introduction in 2008, he has been involved in the first robotic program in Queensland. Greenslopes Private Hospital, where he performs this procedure, remains the highest volume robotic prostate surgery unit in Queensland. He also remains part of the subspecialised urological oncology unit at the Mater Hospital, including continuing practice with open radical prostatectomy. Since completing a urological reconstruction fellowship in London in 1994, and an Oncology fellowship in the USA in 1995, he has continued with clinical practice and research focusing on bladder and prostate cancer. He was a contributor to the UICC collaboration on bladder tumours. He practises with a multidisciplinary oncology group, as the Director of Urology, at the Mater Adults Hospital, Brisbane.
